Study WT June 2012 - we are living in the days of the 7th head!!!
by Sapphy inwell, it's officailly in print now.
the 10 toes of the statue have no significance.. that was worth going to last summer's covention to find out wasn't it!.
i'm fading and still attend some meetings, so i'm still fluent in current theocrapic pure language, but read this quote from the new wt and see if it doesnt scream freaky deaky cult at you.

"That's a forged copy... the real one says "Millions now living MAY never die" ."
@Alfred: If you look up those phrases you'll see that even the WT Library gives BOTH as the title at some point in different references, either "Will" or "May." I think it was a talk given over several years and the title changed at some point - but it started as "Will Never Die."

There's no reason whatsoever to spell out 1260 days one way and 42 months another way if it's supposed to mean the same thing. The fact that one is specifically 42 months and the other is specifically 1260 days has to have a significance; you can't just say "they're the same thing" without any proof.

"He is our only way of making it alive through what is coming... She needs you and T------ to help her get through the Tribulation.... We can’t change what Jehovah has planned."
That's not "fear of displeasing a loving God," that's good-old-fashioned fear of being annihilated by an exacting and tempermental deity.

Don't forget the "day for a year" principle that must be applied: The 2 witnesses will prophesy for 1,260 years, putting the end at 3174 CE. And the 42 months are also 42 months of weeks of years, so 42 x 7 = 294 years, meaning the Holy City will be trampled on until 2208 CE.
Prove me wrong.

Notes from 2 day assembly - "Thought Control"
by baltar447 inthese notes were sent to me from a close friend who is biding his time to leave.. some of this we have read about already, the demo with the two brothers and the damage control they are doing over the ridiculous generation nonsense, but the thing about "thought control"tm i had not heard before...... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
you learn something new every day at the 'sembly.
today at the 'sembly we were educated on the importance of, and i quote, "practicing thought control" .

Sulla: "I guess that is a pretty odd straw to be breaking backs, is all."
The big difference I see is that before they would always take apart the old belief first, pointing out it's weaknesses, then present the new one -- which always made more relative sense by simple virture of them not pointing out its flaws.
However, this time the old belief actually made some sense (in JW world), and the only reason they're changing it is because their time frame ran out. So now they can't trash the old view as much, which makes the new view actually seem worse be comparison, which hasn't really happened before (not to mention it's the most illogical nonsense they've ever come up with).

Never having received a birthday greeting from your parents.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inmy wife turned fifty five the other day and i pen this from her perspective.. "happy birthday".
a harmless, yet meaningful expression of recognition from one's parents that they appreciate having brought you into the world.
for many it is a special day to be remembered, and to acknowledge that you are remembered.. in all her years of life my wife has never been given a birthday greeting from her parents.

I never cared about my birthday or any of the holidays, and even now don't have any desire to join in celebrating them. I feel like I missed a lot of things growing up JW, but all the expected/mandatory gift recieving/giving I could happily do without.
This year, my parents tried to do a "Family Day" for all the children and grandchildren, with wrapped presents and everything, and if that's what birthday/holiday parties are like, I didn't miss much.
I won't be holding my son back from such occasions anymore, but still don't see what the attraction is.

Now, when talking to Witnesses, I think of this quote from Billy Madison:
"What you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

I'm feeling rather lonely and down today.
by PaintedToeNail ini'm rather down today, feeling like my relationship with husband is sad, we don't have anything in common anymore.
i'm feeling outmoded, old and lonely.

I'm really sorry to hear that, PaintedToeNail. I can certainly empathize with your situation; we're very similar. For what it's worth, I'm sending you comforting vibes right now (that's at least as good as prayer, right?).

@Band on the Run
Don't worry, there's nothing to see. Like a Rorschach test, "subliminal images" say more about the receiver than the artist.
